New PntGuard System Launches to Shield Ships from GNSS Spoofing and Jamming
Tschudi Shipping Company, NAL Research, and SGM Technology AS introduced PntGuard, a maritime-security solution designed to provide vessels independent, authenticated positioning when global navigation satellite systems are vulnerable to spoofing and jamming. The system taps a resilient low-Earth-orbit satellite signal that supplements or replaces compromised GNSS feeds and gives crews real-time alerts plus accurate situational awareness when other navigation systems are compromised, the companies say.

PntGuard is designed for plug-and-play deployment aboard ships, allowing maritime operators to defend against stealth threats such as manipulated AIS tracks or stealthy vessel incursions, while also helping document true vessel position for insurers and charterers.
