Geotab and Hyundai Partner on Hardware-Free Telematics, Delivering High-Resolution GPS Across Europe

Geotab and Hyundai Motor Co. launched a native telematics integration in Europe that allows fleets to access vehicle data directly from factory-embedded systems without additional hardware, with a particular emphasis on high-resolution GPS tracking.

The solution transmits near real-time GPS data every 10 seconds from newer Hyundai models — and at ignition on/off for older vehicles — directly into Geotab’s MyGeotab platform. It covers both internal combustion engine and electric vehicles, enabling unified fleet management across more than 40 European markets, including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and others.

Geotab and Hyundai Motor Co. launched a native telematics integration in Europe (Hyundai).

By eliminating aftermarket devices and installation costs, the partnership provides fleets with cost-effective access to proactive maintenance alerts, detailed safety metrics such as seatbelt usage and ADAS data, tire pressure intelligence, and advanced EV insights including battery state of charge and charging status, the company said.

Christoph Ludewig, vice president for EMEA at Geotab, said the collaboration strengthens the company’s OEM network and gives customers instant, high-quality data for improved efficiency and safety. Marcus Welz, CEO of Hyundai Connected Mobility, added that the integration turns factory-fitted connectivity into actionable value, from 10-second GPS updates to predictive maintenance and deep EV insights.
