RugGear, Swift Navigation Team Up to Bring High-Accuracy Location to Industrial Mobility
RugGear, a maker of handheld and wearable devices, has announced a partnership with Swift Navigation to integrate high-precision positioning technology into RugGear’s industrial-grade devices. The collaboration aims to provide centimeter-level location accuracy for industrial mobility solutions, enabling RugGear devices to meet the demanding needs of sectors such as logistics, utilities and field service, the company said.

Under the agreement, RugGear will embed Swift Navigation’s advanced GNSS receiver technology into new and existing hardware, giving workers positioning data even in challenging environments such as urban canyons or remote worksites, the company said. RugGear and Swift Navigation said the new offerings will begin rolling out early next year.

SoundHound AI, Parkopedia Debut Voice-Powered In-Car Parking Agent
Parkopedia and SoundHound AI announced an expanded partnership to launch an in-vehicle voice AI parking agent that lets drivers search for spots, compare real-time prices and availability, and complete payments hands-free using SoundHound’s voice commerce platform integrated with Parkopedia’s database of over 90 million spaces in more than 20,000 cities, the company said.

The partnership will be showcased at SoundHound’s CES 2026 booth in Las Vegas, with plans to expand voice commerce to restaurant reservations, ticket purchases and more, the company said.

Safran Federal Systems Lands Moog Contract for Advanced Hercules Navigation Tech
Safran Federal Systems has been selected by Moog Inc. to supply its Skynaute inertial reference unit as a key component in Moog’s Genesys Avionics Suite for Lockheed Martin’s LMT 0.00%↑ Hercules platforms, including the L-Series and C-130. The Skynaute system, built on HRG Crystal technology, delivers precise navigation in harsh environments while minimizing size, weight and power demands, making it ideal for modernizing legacy military aircraft and supporting global air mobility missions, the company said.

SPARC-AI Launches Tool to Deliver Pixel-Level Geolocation from Any Image
SPARC-AI has announced that its new platform can derive precise geolocation data from ordinary images — enabling “pixel-level” location estimates even when GPS metadata is missing. The company says the capability lets users pinpoint where a photo was taken, opening possibilities in mapping, asset tracking, and security workflows.

According to SPARC-AI, the system, which will be available early next year, combines advanced image analytics with global map and geospatial databases to deliver location estimates with far greater accuracy than conventional image-based tools. That accuracy can support applications ranging from urban planning and environmental monitoring to logistics and emergency response.

CHC Navigation Joins with CNH to Launch FP FleetPro Precision-Ag Kits
CHC Navigation has announced a partnership with CNH Industrial to integrate its guidance systems into CNH’s FP FleetPro aftermarket kits, unveiled at Agritechnica 2025. The collaboration brings CHC Navigation’s GNSS-based autosteering technology to a range of agricultural machinery, offering 10-inch and 12-inch user-friendly displays and compatibility with hydraulic or electric steering, the companies say.

With these kits, farmers can add precision-ag capabilities without replacing existing tractors or implements, reducing input costs, streamlining operations and improving crop yield efficiency, the company said. The FP FleetPro kits are now available through authorized Case IH, New Holland and STEYR dealerships across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Suntech Launches Asset Tracker
Suntech International USA has launched an asset tracker device, the ST4230, which supports indoor and outdoor tracking with GPS and WiFi. The device features a 6-axi motion and has tamper detection.

Potential markets include asset tracking, supply chain, trailers, equipment and more, the company said.

Fleet Management Systems in Europe to Hit 30.5 Million by 2029, Berg Insight Says
The active installed base of fleet management systems in European commercial vehicle fleets stood at 18.1 million at the end of 2024 and is forecast to grow at an 11 percent compound annual rate to reach 30.5 million by 2029, Berg Insight reported. Targa Telematics led the market with about 900,000 units, followed by Webfleet at 752,000 and CalAmp at an estimated 600,000, while the top 40 vendors each exceed 100,000 active units. The sector saw 11 mergers and acquisitions in 2025, including Geotab’s purchase of Verizon Connect’s VZ 0.00%↑ remaining European operations and Mapon’s buys of Interkom and Envirokind.
