HERE Technologies has announced an upgrade to its Tour Planning software Monday that allows logistics operators to optimize routes for mixed fleets of electric and internal combustion vehicles. The new capabilities use artificial intelligence to model battery consumption and charging needs, which the company says can improve planning accuracy by up to 20 percent, the company said.
The software also incorporates predictive traffic data and real-time road closure information to reduce delays and ensure compliance with urban delivery restrictions. By automating complex routing decisions, the tool aims to help transportation companies transition to electric vehicles while maintaining operational efficiency.
HERE to Provide Location Services for Austria’s Largest Digital Marketplace
In other company news, HERE has announced that willhaben, Austria’s largest digital marketplace, is integrating its location platform to improve search and routing capabilities for millions of users.
The partnership enables the marketplace to provide more accurate distance calculations and map visualizations for more than 10 million active listings, the company said.
