Geoforce’s AssetLink Global subsidiary has been awarded a $72 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract by the U.S. Army to provide advanced asset tracking technology for military logistics worldwide, the company announced this week.
The Next Generation Transponder II contract will support in-transit visibility and combat sustainment tracking across all geographic combat commands. The solution combines cellular, satellite and hybrid technologies to deliver near real-time data on transportation assets in challenging environments, pole to pole. It serves as a task-order vehicle for the Department of the Army, other federal agencies, NATO partners and foreign military sales.
The award strengthens Geoforce’s position in defense logistics and rugged asset intelligence as AssetLink’s technology is designed for demanding operational conditions where traditional tracking may fail, the company said. The company said the contract builds on its growing defense-focused capabilities following the acquisition of AssetLink Global.
Competitors in the military and rugged asset tracking space include Orbcomm, Iridium Communications IRDM 2.70%↑ and other satellite IoT providers that offer similar global visibility solutions for government and logistics customers.
Geoforce, headquartered in Plano with additional facilities in Montana and internationally, serves defense, rail, maritime and heavy industry clients. The company said the NGT-II program underscores the increasing importance of reliable logistics visibility amid modern threats including drones and contested supply chains.
