Geotab, the Canadian fleet telematics company, has reduced its workforce by roughly 10 percent, or about 350 employees, according to accounts from affected staff and industry trackers circulating since late October.
The company has not issued a formal public announcement detailing the scale, timing or business rationale for the cuts. Information has surfaced mainly through LinkedIn posts, discussions on the workplace forum Blind, local online threads and layoff trackers. Some employee accounts described an organization-wide restructuring that affected multiple roles, including data and other professional positions.

Geotab remains one of the largest players in commercial fleet telematics. The Oakville, Ontario-based company says it connects more than 6 million vehicles and assets for tens of thousands of customers worldwide and processes vast volumes of vehicle data daily. Its strengths include an open platform and marketplace that integrate third-party applications, detailed engine and driving analytics, and tools used by fleets of many sizes for safety, efficiency, maintenance and compliance. Recent activity has included product updates, partnerships with large fleets and expansion of its international commercial footprint.
The reported job reductions come as many technology and software companies continue to adjust headcount after years of rapid hiring. Because Geotab has not confirmed the numbers or the specific functions affected, the precise impact on its product roadmap and customer support remains unclear.
Requests for comment from the company were not immediately returned. Employees and observers continue to discuss severance terms and next steps on professional networking sites and regional forums.
