Samsara Launches Tracking Label and AI Shipment Center to Boost Supply Chain Visibility

Samsara IOT -4.86%↓ on Wednesday introduced the Samsara Tracking Label, a low-cost, disposable Bluetooth device, along with a new Agentic Shipment Center designed to provide continuous, real-time visibility into shipments across any carrier and close long-standing gaps in supply chain monitoring.

The paper-thin Tracking Label is adhesive-backed, contains no lithium or hazardous materials, and offers up to 45 days of battery life. Powered by the Samsara Network — which leverages millions of connected vehicles, equipment and devices — the label delivers near-real-time location updates without requiring carrier-specific hardware or infrastructure.

Samsara is offering disposable smart label that deliver visibility into any shipment, across any carrier (Samsara).

The new Shipment Center uses artificial intelligence to surface exceptions, predict delays, deter cargo theft and improve customer communication. It integrates with existing transportation management systems and works with the Samsara Shipment App for easy label activation via barcode scanning.

Competitors in the Space

Samsara faces competition from several players in fleet and supply chain visibility. Verizon Connect VZ 0.96%↑ offers robust telematics and asset tracking solutions, while Geotab provides strong OEM integrations and broad fleet management tools. Other competitors include Motive (formerly KeepTruckin), which emphasizes AI-driven safety and compliance.

The new offerings address the roughly $35 billion annual cost of cargo theft in the U.S. and persistent visibility challenges in less-than-truckload, truckload and cross-border shipping, Samsara said. Early adopter DCL Logistics reported significantly improved oversight of high-value cargo.
