Canada-based Geotab has partnered with Volvo Cars to combine OEM data with the company’s telematics network. The company says the deal allows commercial fleet operators to make decisions based on the telematics information from its platform.
Additionally, and what is becoming a growing market for Geotab, the integration allows all Volvo cars with the On Call connectivity—or Android-based infotainment system—to get telematics information. The connectivity is suitable for all equipped Volvo cars going back to the 2014 models.
The company says its MyGeotab platform now integrates OEM data from most European auto manufacturers—as well as the company’s retrofitted telematics devices. This includes for electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids and conventional engine vehicles.
In other company news, Geotab Australia and Logmaster Trading partnered to integrate Geotab’s telematics platform with Logmaster’s Electronic Work Diary fatigue and compliance automation systems.
