Point One, TOTEM and Orange Join Forces to Build Europe’s Largest RTK Correction Network

Point One Navigation has announced a partnership with TOTEM and Orange to deploy what will become Europe’s largest real-time kinematic (RTK) correction network.

Leveraging TOTEM’s more than 27,000 telecommunications towers across France and Spain and Orange’s M2M SIM and 4G/5G connectivity, the collaboration will enable Point One to install and operate its own base stations on more than 500 TOTEM sites for location services, the company said.

Point One, TOTEM and Orange partner in what could be Europe’s largest RTK correction network (Point One Navigation).

Unlike traditional revenue-sharing models, Point One said it will retain full ownership and operational control of the network for its enterprise customers in such industries as construction, precision agriculture and public safety.

“This partnership with TOTEM is a fundamental step in our European expansion and a testament to our commitment to building a global, professionally managed RTK network,” said Aaron NATHAN, CEO at Point One Navigation, in a statement. “TOTEM’s infrastructure provides the ideal platform for our base stations, allowing us to deliver seamless, centimeter-level accuracy with high uptime and reliability to our customers in France and Spain. This collaboration not only strengthens our network but also positions us to be an indispensable enabler of the new technology frontier in Europe.”

Orange will also function as a commercial channel, offering Point One’s positioning solutions to enterprise customers, while supporting the technical ecosystem with connectivity and infrastructure. The move accelerates the adoption of centimeter-level accuracy location services across the continent, the companies say.

  • In other Point One news, the company is working with BAS-Turf, in partnership with robotics company Turf-Troniq, to provide the positioning for autonomous turf maintenance.
