Advanced Navigation Introduces Chimera Land Sensor for Underground Mining

Advanced Navigation has launched Chimera Land, a 3D Laser Velocity Sensor designed to help vehicles maintain precise positioning in deep, unmapped underground mining environments where GPS signals are unavailable. The company said the sensor, when integrated with its inertial navigation system and AdNav Intelligence software, measures ground-relative 3D velocity to to reduce drift and improve dead-reckoning accuracy without reliance on externral infrastructure.

Advanced Navigation said this infrastructure-light solution is intended to boost operational certainty and safety for haulage, drill rig alignment and autonomous fleet operations in high-dust and zero-light conditions. The Chimera Land sensor is available for purchase now.

Iridium Unveils New Three-in-One IoT Module for Global Connectivity

Iridium Communications IRDM 0.00%↑ has introduced the Iridium 9604, a compact module that integrates satellite, cellular, and positioning technologies into a single platform. The device combines Iridium’s short burst data service with LTE-M cellular connectivity and GNSS capabilities to simplify design for high-volume deployments, the company said.

By unifying these features, the module aims to reduce hardware costs and board space requirements for developers in the industrial and maritime sectors, the company said. Commercial availability for the new module is scheduled to begin in June 2026, with development kits currently available for testing.

INRIX Unveils Next-Gen AI Traffic Tools To Boost Safety And Cut Congestion

INRIX has announced a new generation of AI-driven traffic products aimed at helping transportation agencies and logistics organizations transition from reactive traffic management to proactive operations that can improve safety and reduce congestion. The expanded platform adds generative AI capabilities, enhanced incident detection and continuous analytics, letting customers respond faster to incidents and surface risks earlier, the company said.

More than 20 ago, INRIX commercialized the first system to use GPS data to create real-time traffic information (INRIX).

It also includes automated traffic reporting tools and advanced traffic volume and speed profiles that provide deeper insights into travel patterns, the company said. INRIX said the enhancements lay a foundation for more scalable, trustworthy mobility operations worldwide.

VIAVI Introduces Cesium-Free Precision Clock for Critical Infrastructure

VIAVI Solutions VIAV 0.00%↑ said it has launched the patent-pending ePRTC360+ Enhanced Primary Reference Time Clock, a cesium-free timing solution that meets ITU-T G.8272.1 drift standards previously achievable only with cesium atomic clocks. The company said the ePRTC360+ can safeguard critical power grids, transportation systems, public safety networks, 5G mobile infrastructure and AI data centers against GNSS timing disruptions at a fraction of the cost of traditional cesium clocks.

Only alternative to Cesium clocks to meet ITU-T G.8272.1 drift standard, with no time limit and at a fraction of the cost, says VIAVI (VIAVI).

VIAVI also reported successful testing of the technology in jamming and spoofing environments and its integration into the SecurePNT 6200 product line to maintain precise time even when GNSS signals are unavailable.

SparkFun Launches Upgraded GNSS Flex Modules for Precision Navigation

SparkFun Electronics said it expanded its GNSS Flex product line with the new Septentrio mosaic-G5 P3 receiver and the IM19 inertial measurement unit to support high-precision positioning and navigation applications. The company said the updated hardware provides enhanced signal tracking and data fusion capabilities for developers building advanced positioning solutions.

SparkFun said the additions extend its tools for rapid prototyping and testing in robotics, mapping and other industries requiring reliable GNSS and inertial data. The modules are designed to integrate with the GNSS Flex ecosystem to help engineers accelerate development, the company said.

Tupaia and Oscilloquartz Validate High-Precision Positioning Using Existing Timing Infrastructure

Tupaia has announced a joint technology validation with Oscilloquartz showing that mobile operators and enterprises can achieve centimeter-level GNSS positioning by combining existing timing infrastructure with Tupaia’s cloud-based positioning service. The partners demonstrated that timing grandmasters from Oscilloquartz integrated with Tupaia’s cloud positioning significantly reduced typical GNSS errors to centimeter-level accuracy without the need for standalone reference networks.

The validation confirms that operators can deploy advanced positioning services for applications such as IoT, drones, automotive and logistics while lowering complexity and deployment cost. Executives said the results unlock new commercial opportunities by leveraging infrastructure operators already maintain and trust.

IturanMob and Griiip team up to bring real-time telemetry, AI insights to racers

Ituran Location and Control said its smart-mobility platform, IturanMob, will partner with Griiip to provide real-time vehicle performance telemetry and AI-powered insights for race and track-day drivers. Under the agreement, IturanMob becomes Griiip’s official IoT technology provider, enabling data collection and processing across motorsport categories and feeding performance metrics into Griiip’s analytics platform. The companies said the implementation is expected to connect thousands of motorsport vehicles by the end of 2026 and deliver professional-level insights via cloud-based dashboards. Southeast Asia Fleet Management Market to Reach 6.4 Million Units by 2029

The installed base of fleet management systems in Southeast Asia is projected to grow from about 3.6 million units in 2024 to more than 6.4 million units by 2029, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of 12.3 percent, according to a new report from Berg Insight. The firm said penetration among business fleet vehicles is expected to rise from 17.5 percent to 27.1 percent during the same period, driven by economic growth, rising competition in transportation and logistics, and increasing awareness of telematics solutions. While adoption remains lower than in more mature regions and many deployments still rely on basic tracking systems, demand for advanced and video telematics solutions is accelerating, particularly in markets such as Singapore. Berg Insight identified Jimi IoT, Cartrack and TransTRACK as the largest providers in the region, each with more than 200,000 active units.
