Iridium Launches Compact Chip To Protect Devices From GNSS Jamming and Spoofing

Iridium Communications IRDM 2.70%↑ has announced the commercial availability of the Iridium PNT ASIC, a first-to-market microchip designed to safeguard global positioning, navigation, and timing systems against electronic interference. Measuring just 8 by 8 millimeters and weighing under 0.2 grams, the compact component delivers cryptographically secure location and timing data directly from the Iridium satellite constellation.

The ultra-compact chip operates effectively in contested environments and inside structures, providing a resilient alternative or verification layer for traditional GPS signals, the company said. More than 150 organizations across maritime, aviation, telecommunications, autonomous systems, and defense sectors have requested evaluation hardware since the module was first previewed. Early integration partners, including Solace Communications and Skyband Systems, are deploying the hardware to provide real-time confidence scoring and automated jamming alerts for critical infrastructure and aviation platforms.

HERE Technologies and JLR Expand Partnership To Optimize EV Charging Navigation

HERE Technologies has expanded its collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover to integrate advanced electric vehicle routing and charging services into JLR vehicles worldwide. Powered by the HERE EV Charge Points dataset, the integrated system provides drivers with real-time information on charger availability, connector types, and dynamic power output across global charging networks, the company said.

The navigation software calculates optimal driving routes and charging stops by evaluating vehicle range, terrain, driving style, and live environmental conditions. Designed to reduce range anxiety and streamline long-distance travel, the enhanced functionality is being rolled out across JLR’s luxury electric vehicle lineup through over-the-air software updates, the company said.

Honeywell Unveils New Tactical Navigation System for GNSS-Denied Operations

Honeywell Aerospace HONA -1.94%↓ has launched of its International Tactical Advanced Land Inertial Navigator (iTALIN) 550 surface navigation system, a platform designed to deliver reliable, high-precision navigation for military and commercial ground vehicles operating in demanding environments.

Jointly developed by Honeywell Aerospace in the Czech Republic and its subsidiary Civitanavi Systems in Italy, iTALIN 550 is a drop-in replacement for Honeywell’s existing TALIN 500 with improved navigation performance and enhanced alignment capabilities, including reduced alignment times in a smaller, modernized system, the company said. ITALIN 550 supports accurate PNT and stabilization even in environments where satellite signals may be degraded or unavailable, a critical component of modern defense missions, the company said.

Flowfinity Enhances Field Operations Software With Generative AI and Advanced Mapping Tools
