Geotab Acquires Verizon Connect’s Commercial Operations to Expand Global Footprint

Geotab announced it has acquired Verizon Connect’s VZ 0.55%↑ international commercial operations in Australia, the U.K., Ireland, Italy, France, Portugal, Poland, the Netherlands, and Germany, substantially enlarging its presence in small- to mid-sized fleets across key global markets. Financial details were not disclosed.

The deal does not include Verizon Connect’s product, engineering, or non-sales teams, focusing instead on commercial sales, service, and support functions. The deal makes Geotab the largest telematics provider in Australia, one company source said.

Geotab purchased Verizon Connect’s overseas operations (Verizon Connect).

Geotab said more than 400 Verizon Connect employees from Europe and Australia will join its team, and the acquisition is effective immediately with a promise of seamless transition for existing customers. The integration will be led by Matthew Kassel, senior vice president, strategic acquisitions and integration.

Founder and CEO Neil Cawse described the move as a “pivotal moment” that enhances Geotab’s global scale, local market support, and ability to serve a broader range of fleet customers. “This acquisition marks a pivotal moment for Geotab and the connected vehicle industry,” he said.
