NextNav Validates 5G Network Navigation Accuracy

NextNav NN 1.62%↑ announced the first real-world validation of its 5G positioning network, achieving single-digit-meter horizontal accuracy during over-the-air testing. The field tests, conducted across 17 urban and suburban locations in Santa Clara County, Calif., demonstrated that the technology can match GPS accuracy within one meter in outdoor environments. This milestone is a critical step toward commercializing a terrestrial-based network capable of backing up satellite systems where they often fail, such as indoor spaces and dense cities. The company plans to further enhance its vertical floor-level accuracy and algorithm resilience through artificial intelligence optimizations.

StarNav Conducts Live Receiver Demo at ION GNSS+ 2026

StarNav had the opportunity to conduct a live demonstration of the SNDR-X receiver in front of an audience at the Safran booth at ION GNSS+ 2026 in Orlando, Fla., showcasing real-time acquisition, tracking, decoding, and positioning using next-generation LEO PNT signals.

StarNav CEO Dr. Joshua Morales makes a demonstration of the company’s SNDR-X receiver at ION GNSS+ 2026 in Orlando (StarNav).

The demonstration featured simultaneous tracking of 14 Xona Pulsar satellite signals from simulated RF across both the X1 and X5 bands, alongside traditional GPS L1 and L5 signals. StarNav demonstrated both Pulsar + GPS integrated positioning and timing as well as Pulsar standalone operation, highlighting seamless performance and smooth position and timing continuity as GPS signals transitioned from available to unavailable.
