NavInfo has announced that it has signed a license agreement with BMW Group to provide ADAS and high definition maps and location-based services for autonomous driving in China.
Initial reports say that the order is dependent on the amount of BMW vehicles that will be equipped with assisted automated driving in China.
Beijing-based NavInfo, founded in 2002 with 765 employees, and BMW have been working together on autonomous driving map projects since 2019. NavInfo will provide maps for BMW-developed Level 3 and above driving systems in China, according to published reports.
In other company news, BMW Group and Valeo have announced that they are developing fully automated parking technologies up to Level 4. The companies partnered in January to develop an ADAS domain controller, sensors and software for parking and maneuvering for BMW’s upcoming platform generation platform.
