Nvidia Introduces Opt-In Software to Track and Manage AI GPU Fleets

Nvidia NVDA 0.87%↑ has rolled out new optional software designed to help data center operators monitor and manage large fleets of AI-focused graphics processing units, offering detailed insights into power use, temperature and system health.

The tool, available through Nvidia’s NGC platform, provides a centralized dashboard that allows operators to oversee hardware performance across distributed data center environments. Nvidia said the software is aimed at improving operational efficiency and reducing downtime as demand for AI computing infrastructure continues to grow.

Nvidia said the location awareness relies on network-level telemetry and system configuration data rather than GPS (NVIDIA).

A notable feature of the platform is its ability to identify the approximate physical location of GPUs, a capability intended to help organizations manage assets and detect unauthorized movement of hardware.

Nvidia said the location awareness relies on network-level telemetry and system configuration data rather than GPS or direct geolocation chips embedded in the GPUs. The company emphasized that the feature is strictly opt-in and designed for enterprise fleet management, not consumer tracking.
