LAS VEGAS—Qualcomm Technologies $QCOM had a huge presence at CES 2025, primarily focusing on its automotive market with collaborations with Alps Alpine, Amazon AMZN 0.01%↑, Leapmotor, Mahindra, Hyundai Mobis, and Royal Enfield.
Qualcomm, which also displayed its product offerings and capabilities in a concept car in its booth (see photo) and highlighted work with Desay, Garmin GRMN 0.00%↑, and Panasonic Automotive for Snapdragon Cockpit Elite.
Besides its large auto presence at CES, Qualcomm announced an upgrade to its Qualcomm Aware connected IoT platform for tracking large industry assets and goods. Aware now has observability, monitoring and location services that the company said will enable a variety of IoT use cases.
Aware, which will be pre-integrated into the Qualcomm IoT Solutions Framework, allows for an integrated way to add cloud-based observability and insights, geolocation, indoor positioning, firmware updates, and device management services to connected devices, the company said. “This means that device manufacturers can unlock new insights on the connected devices they sell and take preventative actions to fix and troubleshoot devices,” the company said.
Trimble and Qualcomm Extend Collaboration
Just prior to CES, Qualcomm and Trimble TRMB 0.00%↑ extended a technology collaboration to deliver precise positioning solutions for automated vehicles ranging from automobiles to heavy trucking. Trimble’s ProPoint Go will be integrated with the Snapdragon Auto 5G Modem-RF Gen 2, part of the Digital Chassis solution, to provide positioning accuracy within 10 centimeters, the company said.
Vehicles with the joint solution are expected to be on the roads by 2028. This new integration is capable of supporting Level 2+ and potentially higher levels of automated driving applications, the company said.
