Semtech’s HL7900 5G LPWA Module Certified by U.S. Carriers

Semtech SMTC 0.10%↑ has announced the certification of the HL7900 Global 5G LPWA module by three U.S. carriers, AT&T 1.26%↑T-Mobile TMUS -1.40%↓, and Verizon VZ 0.77%↑ and KDDI in Japan. The module has also achieved global regulatory certifications from such entities as the FCC, the company said.

Semtech’s HL7900 module has received certifications from three U.S. carriers and one in Japan (Semtech).

The HL7900, powered by Sony’s Altair ALT1350 chipset, is tailored to IoT applications with low-power consumption and extended coverage needs. An integrated GNSS receiver and optional Wi-Fi scanning provides indoor and outdoor tracking for applications such as asset management and urban navigation, the company said.

Adant and Truesense Partner

Smart antenna technology and RTLS systems provider Adant, and Truesense have partnered to offer modules and RF technologies for the UWB ecosystem. Adant’s smart antenna systems with Truesense’s TSRR250 module, integrating radar and ranging functionalities, will be offered in a single module, the companies say. Some markets and applications for the modules include breathing and apnea monitoring, fall detection, tracking and behavior analysis.

Incognia Launches Indoor Positioning Fraud Detection Feature

Incognia has launched an Environment Linked to Fraud (ELF) detection feature that prevents recurring fraud, the company said. ELF flags devices as risky if they have been associated with indoor positioning signals previously linked to confirmed fraud, the company said.

ELF provides a layer of fraud detection that links devices based on shared indoor positioning signals, ensuring that fraudsters cannot hide behind new devices or system resets any longer, the company said. Incognia, with a new partnership with Grubhub, allows companies to increase order profitability and decrease customer service costs, the company said.

Garmin Rolls Out Instinct 3 Series Smartwatch

Garmin GRMN -0.25%↓ has announced the Instinct 3 Series smartwatches, which features 24 days on a single charge in smartwatch mode while the solar charging models can get unlimited battery life. The smartwatches feature multi-band GPS with SatIQ.

The smartwatches also have TracBack routing that helps provide a route back to the starting point as well as reference points of known spots relative to that location.

New Teletrac Navman Asset Trackers Feature One-Time Install and Indoor Tracking

Teletrac Navman, a Vontier company, has launched one-time install devices that include indoor tracking capability for real-time location visibility. The asset trackers, designed for indoor and outdoor equipment, offer a ten-year battery life, the company said.

Teletrac Navman is offering a 10-year battery life, indoor tracking in its new asset trackers (Teletrac Navman).

Indoor tracking allows warehouse asset management, construction equipment, and other high-value asset monitoring. The units include a theft recovery mode that can be activated to help locate and recover stolen assets.

3D Mapping Capability: Strutt EV Launches at CES

Singapore-based Strutt has launched Strutt EV. Launched at CES this month, the personal mobility vehicle uses 3D sensor array and smart algorithms to create a real-time map of the user’s environment.

Strutt EV combines smart navigation with user-friendly design, enabling the vehicle to adapt to an individual’s environment, the company said. The system includes an intelligent drive-assist platform called Co-Pilot, an intelligent drive-assist system. The 3D mapping and rear-view camera features help increase spatial awareness when needed, the company said.

CMT Now Telematics Partner of Team Brady

Team Brady has named Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT) Official Telematics Partner for Season 2 of the UIM E1 World Championship, the world’s first all-electric race boat series. Team Brady will use CMT’s AI mobility platform, DriveWell Fusion, both on and off the water. Team Brady will be able to use the DriveWell mobile app, which leverages sensor data and machine learning to identify driving behaviors, to measure pilot performance metrics, the company said.

Team Brady, owned by former NFL quarterback Tom Brady, will compete in Season 2 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and such other locations as Miami, Qatar and Italy’s Lake Como.
